Doolin Ferries
The Aran Islands are situated across the mouth of Galway Bay - about 30 miles from Galway City, and less than seven miles from the nearest point in either Co. Clare or Connemara. There are three islands. According to legend Galway Bay was once a large lake known as Loch Lurgan which in ancient times eroded its backs leaving the Aran Islands forever battling against the mighty waves of the Atlantic ocean. |

The Burren Perfumery
The Burren Perfumery was founded 40 years ago at the centre of a quiet valley in the heart of the Burren. The Burren is a limestone plateau on the West Coast of Ireland, famous for its wildness and the diversity of its plant life. There are more than 700 species of flowering plants here, roughly three-quarters or Ireland’s native flora. The flowers of the Burren inspired the original Perfumery fragrances: Man of Aran, Ilaun, Frond and Fraoch. |

Michael Cusack Cenrte
There’s hardly a person in Ireland who hasn’t heard of the Gaelic Athletic Association. Such is the popularity of hurling and Gaelic football that almost every parish has its own club. It’s an important part of what it means to be Irish, and the games are now played around the globe. And yet, despite its iconic status, the story of the founder of the GAA remains largely untold. Michael Cusack was born in Carron, County Clare in 1847 and died in 1906. A fascinating and complex personality, his passion for Gaelic games was matched only by his love of the unique and beautiful Burren limestone landscape where he was born and raised. Cusack was also the model for "The Citizen" in James Joyce's Ulysses. |
